Dickson Electric System (DES) is inviting the community to join us in celebrating Public Power Week, October 6-12th. As one of over 2,000 community-powered, not-for-profit electric utilities serving 49 million Americans, DES is committed to providing reliable, efficient, and affordable electricity to the Dickson community.
To engage the community, we are hosting two exciting contests: a Coloring Contest for K-5th graders and a Word Search Contest for middle and high school students. Both contests offer a chance for participants to learn about the important role that local electricity plays in powering their community.
Coloring Contest:
- Open to: K-5th grade students
- Deadline: September 27th
- Prize: The winning entry, as voted on by DES staff, will receive a $50 Amazon gift card.

Word Search Contest:
- Open to: Middle and High school students
- Deadline: October 9th
- Prize: One lucky participant will be randomly selected to win a $50 Amazon gift card.
