Is fiber reliable?

Fiber is highly reliable and less affected by weather, electrical interference, or distance. It also experiences fewer outages compared to traditional copper networks.

What equipment is installed inside my home?

During installation, we typically install aGigaspire U6 Wi-Fi 6 router to provide fast, reliable internet throughout your home. If additional coverage is needed, Gigaspire U4M mesh extenders can be added to expand Wi-Fi range. Customers who want the latest performance and features may also upgrade to the Gigaspire GS7 Wi-Fi 7 which is included in the Signature package or can be added to any package for $10 per month, offering enhanced speeds, capacity, and future-ready technology.

Does fiber have data caps?

Our fiber internet plans includeunlimited data, so you don’t have to worry about data caps, overage charges, or throttling. You can stream, game, work, and connect multiple devices with confidence, knowing your internet usage is never limited.

Is fiber internet secure?

Fiber internet is considered one of the most secure types of internet connections available. Unlike traditional copper lines, fiber-optic cables transmit data as light signals rather than electrical signals, making them extremely difficult to tap into without detection.

What is Peace of Mind?

Peace of Mind is our optional service that enhances your in-home Wi-Fi experience with features through the Ignite Broadband IQ App like parental controls, enhanced security features, content restrictions, device prioritization, and more. It also includes up to six free service visits per year to help keep your network running smoothly. Peace of Mind is included with our Essential and Signature packages and can be added to the Basic package for $10 per month.

Troubleshooting FAQs

My internet is not working, what should I do?

Start by checking that your Wi-Fi router is powered on and securely connected. Try restarting your Wi-Fi router by unplugging it for 30 seconds and plugging it back in. Test with a wired Ethernet device to rule out Wi-Fi issues. If the issue continues, contact our technical support team for assistance.

What do the lights on my Wi-Fi router mean?

The lights on your router show the status of power, internet connection, and Wi-Fi activity. A solid or blinking green light usually means everything is working properly, while red lights or no lights may indicate a connection issue.

How do I change my Wi-Fi name and password?

You can change your Wi-fi name and password by using the Ignite Broadband IQ App. As well as manage parental controls, guest Wi-Fi networks, content restrictions, prioritize devices and more!

How can I access advanced settings on my Wi-Fi router?

Access advance settings by opening a browser at 192.168.1.1. Use username “admin” and the password printed on the device sticker, usually near the serial number or Wi-Fi Key located on the bottom or side of the Wi-Fi router.

Can I use my own router?

Yes, you can use your own router. However, we offer an advanced Wi-Fi 6 router free of charge to ensure the best experience possible.

*NOTE: If you use your own router, you will be responsible for set up, any issues and maintaining firmware updates.

Why does my Wi-Fi keep dropping?

Wi-Fi drops are often caused by interference from other networks, physical obstacles, outdated equipment, or coverage limitations in your home. Adding mesh extenders or repositioning your router can help improve stability. If you continue to experience service issues contact our 24/7 technical support.

How do I test my internet speeds properly?

For the most accurate results, connect a device directly to your router using an Ethernet cable and run a speed test when no other devices are actively using the internet.
