Our History
Ignite Broadband is not just another internet service provider; we are a division of Dickson Electric, a trusted municipal electric system with a rich history of serving over 38,000 homes and businesses across five counties in rural Middle Tennessee since 1905.
In March of 2023, Ignite Broadband was launched with the mission of connecting the people and communities of Dickson Electric System, after the DES Board of Public Utilities had, in response to the ever-evolving needs of the communities served, previously voted unanimously in favor of offering high-speed, reliable broadband services to all Dickson Electric System (DES) customers. This momentous decision initiated the largest investment in the history of Dickson Electric and marked the birth of Ignite Broadband, an initiative aimed at bridging the digital divide and enhancing the quality of life for every customer and community we serve.

RONNIE SAGAR, DIRECTOR OF BROADBAND OPERATIONS: Ronnie leads our passionate Ignite Broadband team with a vision for excellence. With years of experience in the utility and broadband industries, he is dedicated to ensuring that Ignite Broadband delivers the highest quality service to our customers.
GEORGE BENJAMIN, OPERATIONS MANAGER: As Ignite’s Operations Manager, George oversees the day-to-day activities that keep our network running smoothly. His expertise and commitment to efficiency are integral to the success of Ignite Broadband.
